The Great Man's Vision

I was as always admired to the great man who built Infosys - Narayana Murthy, who came here to Mysore Campus today evening.
He started his talk with globalization which he defined as getting the best resources of talent, labour, knowledge and materials from where it is best available, processed at the best place and sold where the best market is available without barriers of national boundaries. He then spoke about embracing commonality of universal values among all the cultures of the world refering to the panama and chinese batches in mysore campus. He conveyed the message of spending some time understanding 'what makes people driving at various functional departmants and levels of an organisation' and to develop bond with people you interact with, like he said, visiting his driver's home once in a while, to understand what makes people's life.
Question Answer session followed and the first question asked was 'What does Success mean to you ?' He answered it as 'Keeping people around you with joy, giving what is expected from you, being a valuable member of the team'. Other discussion topics were about Infosys's next target, reason for heavy recruiting, expansion of Infy outside IT, employees shifting IT companies, infosys dc not being at mumbai, suggestion for better interaction with foreign trainees by having in the same batch as trainees, and so on.. all of which NRN answered perfectly to the point. One of the girl trainee requested NRN to have a hand shake and he gave it with blessings. He's so good at giving replies, when a trainee feared of asking a silly question, he said "only answers are silly. No questions are silly !"
It's like dream for me to listen to the chairman of Infosys who built it from the start, took it to 1billion revenue in 23 years, next 1billion in 23 months and the next 1billion expected in only 12 months, the fastest growing IT company in the world!

Sabarimala Ayyappa Darshanam

After spending tough times walking on the stony terrains of Sabarimala and standing in long queues, I was happy that I got Ayyappa darshanam the day before yesterday.
We (Myself, My Roomie Hridish and my Father) started our Sabarimala journey after wearing maala at the temple near my house on Saturday morning, packing our Irumudikkettu with the help of GuruSwami at the temple, and starting off in Vivekananda travels from Thali ShivaKshetram in Calicut. Our journey of pilgrim goes as follows: Guruvayoor, Thripprayaar, Kodungallur, Thrikkakara, Chottanikkara, Vaikkam, Kadathurathi, Ettumanoor, Erumeli and finally Pampa to Sannidhanam. We started our walk uphill from Pampa about 5.15 pm on sunday evening and after a hard walk with rushy queues starting halfway along the uphill till the golden 18 steps, we got darshan of Lord Ayyappa around 3:30 am Monday morning.
Though my roomie was frustated standing for long hours, he being a kanniSwami not expecting the rush to be of this extent, was quite satisfied after the divyadarshanam. We returned back to pampa downhill, then boarded our bus back to calicut and reached home by 1:30 am. We then had a quick sleep and got ready to come back to Mysore by 5am bus.

Street Puppy loves packed Milk !

I was very much pleased to feed packet milk to a tiny street born Puppy near my house. The puppy was like a dwarfed sheep with thick haired skin, with eyelids always struggling to open. I heard it crying in a corner probably because it was alone after its twin brother puppy died of illness and the mother dog was not caring it. The mother dog herself was lying tired on the street - so Me and my roomy, Gynny decided to buy a packet of milk and feed her. The mother dog was very shy, yet drank the milk from the plastic lid after we poured milk from the packet every 2 minutes. Then I brought the puppy close to the milk, it was truly overwhelming to see the puppy licking the milk greedily and the run to be licked all over its face by its mother dog.
We brought a packet of biscuits too and both of them finished it, enjoying a luxurious supper with biscuits and milk!

Pretty Good Chat

My friends came to my Cabin in GEC and we had a good chat for quite some time. I was talking to them about my batch, how the trainees in my batch went along, had chocolates given to me by the trainees, had fun talking about the trainee days, they enjoyed the cartoons I had made during my trainee days, called my friend Steven in US batch, they went to the class where deepa and praveen had studied (I refused to go along with them because I had gone for project evaluation couple of days ago), and on they went after a good time pass.

The New James Bond

I was quite impressed the way the new James Bond star Daniel Craig was casted. He has brought a contrast in the character of bond from the earlier star Pierce Brosnan. The new bond seems to be more hard core and mean in his business as a 007 agent, he's more into action, more mean in his job, not fluttering with ladies purposely as pierce brosnan used to do ..
I like Daniel because he has brought about a mental perspective of doing one's job with lot of intensiveness, particulary revealed while in a chasing action sequence in the beginning of the movie.. One thing i have noticed for other bonds in their face features are long chin, naughty smile, sharp eyes, slightly golden hair,.. but Daniel doesn't have a long chin and a naughty smile.. but his face pretty and mascular.. He is a man of more action and lesser words.. I like this bond after seeing 'Casino Royale' at Multiplex in Infy Campus..
